Brighten Up with IPL Light Therapy

Allura Aesthetics is devoted to face and body cosmetic procedures.

Discover luxurious options in skincare procedures with Allura Aesthetics, starting with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments or Photofacials. Designed to reduce the appearance of brown spots, sun damage, age spots, and other skin-related blemishes, the IPL sends out scattered wavelengths of light to change your skin on a molecular level.

WHAT IS IPL?

If you are bothered by how your facial skin looks because of sun damage or dark spots, Allura Aesthetics can perform a skin examination at our Boynton Beach, FL office to determine if you qualify for IPL (intense pulsed light) therapy. A photofacial with IPL is a rejuvenating skin treatment for adults with hyperpigmentation concerns on their face and neck. IPL with Lumecca technology by InMode is not an invasive procedure yet it can still be very effective and produce great results. The team at Allura Aesthetics uses intense wavelengths of light that heat the skin just enough to set off the natural healing process and increase collagen production. In time, you should uncover healthier skin layers with a more even tone and fewer dark spots.

WILL THE LUMECCA™ IPL TREATMENT WORK FOR ME?

A photofacial reaches deep within the layers of your skin to improve several complexion concerns (particularly sun spots and brown lesions) with minimal recovery needed.

Candidates for IPL treatments with Lumecca technology at Allura Aesthetics might have several issues with their complexion, including rosacea, sun damage, hyperpigmentation (brown spots), rough texture, visible pores, flushing, melasma, sun and age spots, or dilated capillaries. We will assess your complexion to determine if you are a candidate for IPL during your initial consultation.

IPL Procedure

Your aesthetic specialist will provide you with a pair of dark glasses to protect your eyes and proceed to apply a cooling gel on your skin. As the IPL device passes over your skin, it penetrates the deep layers of your skin. Your IPL session will take about 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

RECOVERY AFTER IPL TREATMENT

There is little recovery period needed with an IPL. You may leave our office with your skin a bit red and inflamed. This should fade in several hours, and it can be concealed with cosmetics if you want. Allura Aesthetics suggests patients apply an ointment on the treated skin to decrease any irritation and speed healing. It may also help to take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication to reduce swelling.

IPL Results

After several days, the irregularities under the skin will come to the surface and then start to flake away. It is very important to keep your skin protected with sunscreen after an IPL session and to not pick at the flaking skin. While you will see some visible improvements after the first session, your complexion will attain ideal results with multiple IPL treatments. We recommend most patients get 3 – 6 sessions scheduled monthly at Allura Aesthetics.
