If you smoke, you will be directed to stop for a specified period before and after your procedure. It is also crucial to avoid excessive sun exposure and to use a high-SPF sunscreen (SPF 30 or greater) daily and diligently.
Your Procedure
CO2 laser resurfacing is an outpatient procedure that varies in length according to the extent and locations of your treatment. It is usually performed under a topically applied local anesthetic.
For small areas of your face, treatment will take up to 45 minutes. A full-face co2 laser skin resurfacing treatment can last up to two hours.
Following your procedure, your provider may apply dressings to your face and instruct you about when they should be removed. You can go home after your treatment, but be sure you have arranged for a driver.
